Now I’m not really a Sonic fan; I’ve always known about the franchise, but I didn’t become familiar with it until my little brother was born. He was a pretty big Sonic fan for YEARS, so everything I knew came from him. 1, 2, skip a few years, and the 3rd Sonic movie came out. And like a good movie watcher, I stayed for any after-credits scenes. And that mid-credit scene is what introduced me to Metal Sonic.

I know that kinda makes me a fake fan- or whatever. Since I never played the games (I’m not a gamer). But I cannot tell you how much I grew to LOVE this blue metal faker. I just think he’s the coolest character. But what I really love is his comic variants. Every time he showed up in the Archie series, I love (and have memorized, trust), and the Metal Virus Saga in IDW Sonic is some of my favorite characterization of him.

BUT MY FAVORITE FAVORITETEEE metal copy of Sonic is IDW Scrapnik Island Mecha Sonic Mk 2. I never related to or cared about a character so much. I am him, he is me. It was my first Comic (I only collect the Archie & IDW comics with Metal/Mecha Sonic in them), and it’s what really threw me into this obsession. I love this guy so much. He means the world to me. All Mecha and Metal Sonics mean the world to me.

Since then, I’ve been diving into any Metal Sonic media I can find- old and new. And I’m having so much fun doing so. I am so excited for the 4th movie I might explode.
